Your Program

We’re thrilled to have you! Here’s some more information about the show you’re about to see tonight, as well as more about Washington Improv Theater.

About our spring shows

This run features ten performances of People of the District—a show based on an interview with someone doing amazing things in DC. First, we interview a special guest about their life, their vocation and passions, and what makes DC special to them. Then we’ll improvise a fun and freewheeling montage of scenes inspired by our interview. See our list of guests here.

The run also features three performances by And, Scene—a mash-up of scripted performance and improv—and performances by our company ensembles and special guests. Check out the full line-up here.

About WIT and how to get involved

WIT is home to a thriving community of improvisers who live in work in the DC area. Join our community and get to know our incredible people.

•  Take an introductory Level 1 class! No experience required. Meet people, gain poise, build your confidence and explore your creativity by learning the fundamental concepts of improvisation. It’s the most fun you’ll have all week.
•  Bring a WIT@Work improv training to your workplace. Our organizational trainings prove that professional development can be meaningful and fun. We’ve taught skills in communication, collaboration, and creativity to clients like Deloitte and Capital One as well as nonprofits and government agencies.
•  Take a free workshop. Our Improv for All program is a great way to get a quick taste of improv. We program these workshops at venues all over DC!
•  Volunteer to help us run our shows. Our volunteers help us do everything from checking in audience members to running the lights. Join our team!

WIT in the community

WIT is a creative hub for people across the District. In addition to our shows and classes, we do work out in the community including work with seniors, veterans, and kids in DC Public Schools. Check out our community projects here!

Support from our community were a lifeline for WIT during the worst of the pandemic. As we work to stabilize our revenue from classes and shows, donations help keep us going.

Support WIT today by making a one-time or, even better, monthly donation. Your support fuels our work to bring joy across DC.
