Improv for All!
Is improv as fun as it looks? Yes it is! Washington Improv Theater’s free Improv For All! workshops are high-fun, low-stress classes designed to show you the basics of how improvisers create spontaneous, off-the-cuff theater.
Improv is an amazing way to help people connect with each other and have a reignite their sense of play. And we think Washington needs that pretty seriously. So join in on the fun – we run free workshops every month of the year. These workshops are free but registration is required. They tend to fully enroll.
Whether you are thinking about signing up for one of our eight-week courses, interested in exploring the ideas of improv, or just looking for one night of silly, get-out-of-your-head play, our free workshops are accessible to anyone and everyone.
You don’t need theater experience. You don’t need to be a “funny person.” Just come in ready to have a good time.
An amazing way to meet people and get creative in unexpected and inspiring ways.”
Our passionate and supportive teachers care for and inspire thousands of budding improvisers every year. Trust them. They know what they’re doing.
All of our classes are taught by our experienced, thoughtful faculty who are experts at shepherding you to your improv goal. Not only are they skilled facilitators, many of our teachers are members of WIT’s acclaimed company ensembles or Harold Teams.
All of our teachers have either gone through WIT’s class program or have commensurate teaching experience at other improv institutions.
Take a look at some more information about our teachers on our People page.
WIT has some of the best teachers in the District, including when compared to places like Studio Theatre. Each class is structured with an objective and the teachers are earnest and invested.”
