Get ready for the stage with Voice and Physicality workshops in August
WIT is offering two workshops on creating characters the first weekend of August at Source Theater. If you register for both workshops you get 30% off! Each workshop is designed to be taken on its own so no worries if you can only take one.
On Saturday, August 7th, 4pm to 6pm, Jenna Hall will teach Create Characters Through Physicality, a workshop version of her beloved 4-week elective.
You will create characters that hold onto perspective, have consistent reactions and develop patterns of behavior. You’ll expand the depth of these characters by exploring bigger emotions and physicality, ultimately unlocking your potential to create a variety of characters. You can see Jenna perform on Hellcat and Nox!
On Sunday, August 8th, 4pm to 6pm, actor and dialect coach Sarah Nichols with teach Creating Characters Through Voice which was last offered in August of 2020.
This workshop will teach you different ways to utilize your voice. You will discover possibilities for new characters that you can add to your wheelhouse! Great characters can come from nothing more than altering how you sound.
Sarah completed an MFA in Voice Studies from The Royal Central School of Speech in Drama in London. She is a Senior Editor-at-Large for the International Dialects of English Archive (IDEA), having contributed over 30 audio samples of accents from around the world.
