STAT! An improvised medical drama + That’s So You + LOLgorithm

Washington Improv Theater presents a series of performances including shows that blend improv with artificial intelligence!

Featuring

STAT! An improvised medical drama
STAT! is an improvised medical drama focusing on the personal and professional lives of surgical interns, residents, and attendings. For this run we will ask for a futuristic medical technology and show how technology can lead to a dramatic event.
Cast: Erick Acuña, Krystal Ali, Samiyyah Ali, Caroline Chen, Kaelan Fleury, Jamal Newman, Kelsey Peters, Liz Sanders

That’s So You
“That’s sooo you!” You exclaim excitedly to a friend twirling and showing off their new favorite dress. (It has pockets!) “That’s so… you.” You sneer at your work nemesis as they brag about a report where you did most of the work. (Your work spouse agrees, the comment was devastating). Honoring the phrase, team “That’s So You” emphasizes their enthusiasm for fun and commitment to theatrical flair.
Cast: Mark Benjamin, Lauren Gabel, Steve Karig, Taylor Kniffin, Chris Lewitzke, Katie Munn, Jamal Newman, Andrea Quach, Jason Re, David Shadburn

LOLgorithm
Can a robot make you laugh? Find out in Washington Improv Theater’s new production: LOLgorithm.

Watch as the worlds of artificial intelligence and improv comedy collide as ChatGPT’s creative and comedic abilities are put to the test in real-time. This show pairs AI with actual living improvisers. Together, they will collaborate in creating an improvised scene based on audience suggestions. Can AI understand and replicate human emotions? Will AI be able to make audiences laugh as well as a living, breathing human? Find out in LOLgorithm, running for just five performances as part of Improv Versus the Machine.
