The Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) umbrella covers a lot of rich and diverse cultures, but if there’s one thing everyone can agree on it’s this: Keep your shoes off at home! Shoes Off! is an indie troupe made up of all-AANHPI improvisers, who formed out of WIT’s community-led Affinity Group initiative in 2024, and love celebrating their diversity through the prism of improv comedy.

LIZARD GIRL

One of WIT’s company ensembles, LIZARD GIRL has been a staple of the DC improv scene for almost a decade. She’s weird, wacky, and you never really know what you’re going to get because they love to subvert expectations. But one thing’s for sure: She’s LIZARD GIRL, and she’s going to make you laugh.

Nox!

Nox! holds a fun house mirror up to today’s society. As one of the longest-running groups in the District, this WIT company ensemble is close-knit and thrives on high-energy, memorable characters and playing with both real and imagined worlds. Fueled by the mantra “get weird,” their aim is to be the most dynamic and versatile long-form improv troupe in DC. Oh, and they’re hilariously funny.
