Something unscripted and unpredictable is happening Inauguration Weekend in DC (Jan. 19-22). Grief? Outrage? Consciousness-raising? An unalterable shift in the space-time continuum? Probably all of the above … and much more. Human improvisers of every ilk bring all their messy thoughts and feelings to the stage for this momentous weekend of creative expression and connection at this pivotal and urgent time in our history.

These shows are presented at DC Arts Center in the heart of Adams Morgan.

Never Going Home Again
Exploring what it’s like to live and work in DC, and how different you may feel from your family and friends back home. Poetic Resistance
The cast of Poetic License presents improv ignited by poetry and poetry ignited by improv.  A poet will read an original poem with a resistance/activist theme and the cast performs improv inspired by the poetry. (We may have 2 depending on time.) Give us your fake news and we’ll turn it into some real improv. This election was so much about the news and fake news, and this show will play with that concept in a cathartic way.  Cast: Erick Acuña, Sabahat Chaudhary, Jon Chesebro, J.J. Jackson, Eva Lewis, Dana Malone, Matt Mansfield, Josh Seiden, Jason Walther.

Mash-Up: Citizens United A motley crew of improvisers from all walks of life plays in response to the times we’re traversing.

  • For all shows, unclaimed tickets may be resold at curtain time. Late arrivals will be seated at WIT’s discretion.
  • Washington Improv Theater strives to ensure its shows are accessible to all audiences at our home stage at Source.
