Hold Up: Live One-Year Anniversary Show
July 15, 2021
Celebrate one year of Hold Up with a show performed for a live audience for the very first time.
Created by Krystal Ramseur and Derek Hayes, Hold Up showcases Black performers dissecting literature in a way that wasn’t always comfortable in grade school. Full of laughter and energy, this panel show also delves into poignant academic assessments of the text while weaving in modern context and individual perspectives.
This week’s book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Novel by J. K. Rowling.
Cast: Samiyyah Ali, Namakau Renee Ombaba, Clyde Thompson, Tandra Turner, Sadé Young, and Simone Webster
Be a part of Hold Up’s first-ever live audience. The show will take the online version’s format and expand it to an in-person experience.
