Need an antidote to grim headlines? WIT will give you a jolt of optimism while delivering laughs from our talented ensembles and indie troupes from the DC area!
ABOUT WIT
WIT shows are perfect for a date night, out-of-town visitors, or simply something new and spontaneous to do. All for just $20.
For more than 25 years, our hilarious, experienced improvisers have taken a simple suggestion or story from an audience member and turned it into never-before-seen comedy. And because every performance is made-up on-the-spot, no two shows are ever the same, so you can keep coming back for more! Our homegrown talent has gone on to “SNL,” “The Daily Show,” HBO’s “Insecure” and “The White Lotus,” Hulu’s “How to Die Alone,” and more!
ABOUT AA BATTERY
AA Battery is a new team bursting on the DC improv scene! Welcome to Smallville, population 5,000. Explore the town and its daily happenings from the perspectives of multiple characters.
Cast: Armin Haracic, Alissa Platz
ABOUT FARGOPROV
Set on a cold winter night in the “North Star State,” Fargoprov is an improvised whodunit inspired by FX’s dark comedy “Fargo” and the 1996 Cohen Brothers film that inspired the series. Watch Fargoprov’s weather-weary — yet doggedly determined — detectives as they try to solve a stumper of a cold case based on a suggestion from the audience. (All cases are cold this time of year “Up North,” don’tcha know.) Did Gus Gustafson’s snowmobile really go through the ice or is something fishy going on? You betcha, this cast of real-life Midwesterners will get to the bottom of the lake — err, the case — or slip (up) trying! Snow doubt about it.
Cast: Anna K. Nelson, Kelly Shannon, Matt Alexander, Matt Strote, Stacey Pelika, Stephanie Wester, and Steve Pilloff
ABOUT CHEATERZ
Cheaterz is inspired by breaking the rulez!
Cast: Danielle Steger, Diego Hernandez, Ian Stout, and Sarah Herhold
ABOUT WIT ENSEMBLE NOX!
Nox! holds a funhouse mirror up to today’s society. The cast is a close-knit group that thrives on high-energy, memorable characters, and playing with both real and imagined worlds. They are one of the longest-running troupes in DC and their play is fueled by the mantra “get weird,” resulting in comedy that is often dark, physical, and high energy, yet patient. They aim to be the most dynamic and versatile long-form improv troupe in DC.
Cast: Jonah Gordon, John Heiser, Nina Hsu, Aaron Mosby, Eli Okun, Chris Orvin, Aubrey Peterson, Arie Rich, Bethany Stokes, Tandra T. Turner, Chris Ulrich, and Matt Winterhalter
