20th Century Foxes
The cinephiles of 20th Century Foxes make movies without scripts. Audience members will propose a genre (such as western, romcom, scifi, noir, action, or horror) and a title; 20th Century Foxes will promptly greenlight the pitch. Then they’ll improvise a complete film—featuring heroes, villains, character arcs, montages, flashbacks, and more—from opening shot to climactic end.
Cast: Adriana Salerno, Alex Gurvitch, Daniel Causey, Greg Lipper, Jeff Surprenant, Rachel Kloecker, Sam Hollon
TWIG
Twig! is a Baltimore-based improv troupe started by a crew of silly, silly gooses (geese?) that love comedy and at some point decided we didn’t mind each other so much, either. They turn playful chaos into fast-paced, character-driven comedy. Known for their wacky characters, big physical choices, and interconnected scenes, they spin a single audience-inspired story into some chaotic hilarity.
Cast: Christopher Borcuk, Drew Hatter, Ian Cameron, Jade Fabello, Johanna Alonso, Lee Synkowski, Leigh Engelke, Melissa Eagen, Nancy Jin
Shoes Off!
We’re DC’s favorite all-AANHPI improv team (because we’re only all-AANHPI improv team 🙂
Cast: Aagosh Mathur, Carlic Huynh, Chandra Char, Jake Rossario, Kristin Mitra, May Chung, Mikko Abarcar, Peter Tzeng, Richie Khanh, Rohan Narayanan, Zhaokang Ong
Madeline
Whether you’re looking for naughty, nice, or niche, you’ll be spellbound by Madeline’s shows—which have been called “fun,” “hilarious,” “a tad raunchy for my taste,” and “completely inappropriate for people who aren’t fun.”
Madeline shows are known to (make you):
FEEL randy on the outside and warm on the inside.
REMIND you of the funniest, most successful third date you’ve ever had.
SAY “I love myself. Now let’s go dance.”
Cast: Adam Levine, Dan O’Neil, Danielle Steger, Kevin Eggleston, Lauren Emily, Macey Schiff, Matt Strote, Nick Martinez, Ryan McClure
