Simonica Mendes

Simonica is a proud, dramatic Kriola from Massachusetts who taught herself how to cry in the mirror at age 7.

Originally from Massachusetts, Simonica was born dramatic. From recreating soap operas with her Barbies and Bratz dolls to making her debut on stage in high school, Simonica enjoys transforming into different characters and seizing any chance to yell, “How could you?!”. From there, she performed with the “Not Ready for Bedtime Players” at UMass Amherst before moving to D.C and taking levels 2-5 with WIT. Currently, Simonica is a middle and high school drama teacher, her dream job. When she’s not performing with Hellcat or Who All Gon Be There, she’s writing and performing sketches with the flyest Black sketch group in D.C, The Rens.

Simonica is a lover of all delicious food, fluent in Cabo Verdean Kriolu, a cat mom, and Sex and the City enthusiast.
