WIT releases FY25 Annual Report: Expansion, growth, and a deepening commitment to the community

Washington Improv Theater’s newly released FY25 Annual Report details a year (spanning July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025) defined by significant programmatic expansion, financial growth, and a deepened commitment to the DMV community. The report reflects on how WIT served as a vital creative outlet during a challenging year for the DMV.

FY25 saw WIT build engagement across its core pillars. Our training program grew to 971 enrollments in our core curriculum, while the Improv for All initiative brought free workshops to 540 participants throughout the District. On stage, WIT saw a three-year high in attendance for Improvapalooza and drew over 1,500 patrons to our election satire POTUS Among Us.

Financially, FY25 marked a period of stabilization. WIT achieved an 8% growth in total revenue, driven largely by record-breaking performance sales. This progress was bolstered by a resilient community response; when federal funding for youth programming in Wards 7 and 8 was unexpectedly cut, donors stepped in to fully fund the continuation of those essential classes.
