Step Up for Laughter: Support WIT’s Future and Our Present!
For over 28 years, WIT has championed the creative and collaborative power of improvisation in the District. Now, we are embarking on the most ambitious project in our history: securing a permanent home, while continuing to sustain our ongoing work of bringing connection, joy, and community to DC.
Make a year-end gift to provide a lifeline for WIT’s present and an investment in the future. Choose to support our newly launched capital campaign or our general operations, including projects like our free Improv for All workshops and classes at Project Create!
Invest in WIT’s Future
Support our one-of-a-kind arts center and community hub in NoMa. An expression of radical hope and creative energy, designed to serve as an antidote to growing loneliness and anxiety in the city.
Our new space includes:
- A versatile 110-seat performance space. This permanent venue will allow us to immediately expand our impact, increasing the number of weekend shows that we host by 175%!
- Seven accessible classrooms to provide an ideal learning environment for our students.
- A café/bar where audiences and artists can connect face-to-face.

Give to WIT’s present
Every day of the year, WIT makes a difference in people’s lives by making space for joy and community. A gift to WIT’s everyday operations supports our hard-working staff and sustains our core programming, which includes:
- Serving over 1,000 adult learners annually through our five-level curriculum, helping Washingtonians find community, gain confidence, and overcome anxiety.
- Welcoming 600 participants annually to our free “Improv for All” workshops.
- Offering a robust performance calendar, including free, weekly Harold Night shows, as well as The Cookout: A Celebration of Black Improv in the DMV and the Queer Variety Cavalcade: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Comedy and Culture.
- Building community through projects like classes for veterans through the Armed Services Arts Partnership and workshops for youth and adults in Wards 7 and 8 through Project Create.
