WIT ensemble Madeline seeks new members to join the team
WIT ensemble Madeline is thrilled to host auditions on August 10, 11, 13 and 15.

- Auditions on Saturday August 10 and Sunday August 11 will be held at Studio Theatre (1501 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20005)
- Auditions on Tuesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 15 will be held at the Latin American Youth Center (1419 Columbia Rd NW, Washington, DC 20009)
The deadline to sign up is Monday, August 5 at 11:59 PM.
Madeline’s players strive to create joyous performances featuring memorable characters and moments of poignancy. Their shows emphasize emotional range and commitment, as well as a playfully collaborative spirit. Madeline is proud to be a team where everyone really enjoys spending time with and supporting one another, whether on stage or off!
About the auditions
Madeline practices every other week on Thursdays from 7:15-9:15 PM in Northwest DC and is coached by Kate Symes. Madeline shows tend to be on Fridays or Saturdays in 4 to 6-week intervals, followed by a 4 to 6-week break. Here is last year’s schedule as an example of how often WIT hosts a show run. Regular attendance at rehearsals and shows is required and any major scheduling concerns should be raised before auditioning.
Madeline especially encourages people of color, LGBTQIA+ people, women, and performers of all ages and abilities to audition.

Madeline is looking for new team members who possess and demonstrate the following backgrounds, skills, and attributes:
Commitment and experience
- At least one year of play and performance experience
- Completion of WIT improv curriculum or equivalent
- A strong commitment to attending the scheduled Thursday team rehearsals twice a month and shows nearly every weekend during WIT runs
- Prompt communications and responses via GroupMe and e-mail
Style and performance
- Dynamic physicality
- Strong characters that commit to a clear emotional POV
- Leading with fun and wonder
- Making big, bold decisive moves on stage
- Intentional listening and support
