The Cookout is a celebration of Black comedy and creation in the DMV area. Grab a fork, grab a plate, and get in line.
The Cookout is WIT’s first-ever celebration of Black improv in the DMV area. Curated by featured ensemble Lena Dunham, the show features homegrown WIT talent including the debut performances of two new teams who feature all-Black casts.
Sunday’s kick-off of The Cookout includes some of our most treasured dishes at any Black cookout. Doors open at 6:30 PM so you can fix a plate and meet your neighbors. Show starts and food is cleared at 7:30 PM.
For all shows, unclaimed tickets may be resold at curtain time. Late arrivals will be seated at WIT’s discretion.
Standing Room patrons will be seated for the show after general admission patrons. Standing Room ticketholders may take any unclaimed seats once admitted into the theater, but should be prepared to sit on the floorin front of the first row of chairs (directly on stage). Ushers will help you find your seat.
- The black box theater at Source is ground-floor and wheelchair accessible. WIT can set aside wheelchair space upon request, with no need for the patron to reserve a specific seat.
- Assisted listening devices are available upon request.
- In order to provide a welcoming and supported experience, we encourage patrons who seek additional accessibility information or are in need of an assisted listening device to please contact us at email@example.com or 202-204-7770.
