WIT is DC’s top spot for hilarious improv comedy. Our shows are surprising, smart, and totally unscripted, and feature the funniest improvisers in the region.

Inspired by a simple suggestion from the audience, each show is an unpredictable delight. In fact, most first-time audience members find it hard to believe that what they’re seeing is entirely made up on-the-spot. (It is!)

Bad Tummy

Bad Tummy is an indie team comprised of 8 young millennials with undeniable chemistry, infectious joy, and bad GI issues. They were meant to be friends, they just happened to discover each other through improv at WIT. Their performances are in the event format – built around a central event or setting pulled from a quick chat with the audience about what bonds their friends – and then the fun begins. Bad Tummy truly loves organized chaos, strong characters, and accessible silliness.

20th Century Foxes

The cinephiles of 20th Century Foxes make movies without scripts. Audience members will propose a genre (such as western, romcom, sci-fi, noir, action, or horror) and a title; 20th Century Foxes will promptly greenlight the pitch. Then they’ll improvise a complete film—featuring heroes, villains, character arcs, montages, flashbacks, and more—from opening shot to climactic end.

Sábado Picante

Nothing goes better with spooky szn than the drama and kookiness of a telenovela! Washington, DC’s only improvised telenovela en español wants to hear your true spooky and eerie stories. Known for their bold, brash stage presence and celebration of the telenovela genre, this will be a show you don’t want to miss. And if you don’t speak Spanish, don’t worry — drama transcends language barriers!
