WIT receives $15,000 grant from The Morgan Fund for its new home in NoMa

WIT is delighted to announce that it has been granted $15,000 by The Morgan Fund at Seattle Foundation, which supports performing arts nonprofits with a focus on dance and theater in the Puget Sound, Wash., and Washington DC areas.

In their acknowledgement message, the Fund wrote, “The committee was moved by the work you’re doing, and they’re honored to support your efforts… Thank you for all the incredible dedication you bring to your mission. The Morgan Fund looks forward to seeing the impact of your efforts over the next year.”

The grant is to support the Big Move Capital Campaign to raise money for WIT’s new home in NoMa.

“We’re very grateful to The Morgan Fund at Seattle Foundation for making a strategic investment in WIT’s new venue, which will shine as a beacon of radical hope and creative energy in the nation’s capital,” says WIT’s Artistic/Executive Director Mark Chalfant. “It’s a wonderful recognition of the transformative power of improv as an artform.”

This news comes following WIT’s announcement in late December that it had received $160,000 from DC’s Commission on the Arts and Humanities for the new space.

Individuals and teams wishing to invest in WIT’s future are invited to make a donation via the campaign to which over 300 generous people have so far contributed more than $150,000 (out of an overall individual goal of $350,000.)
