About Madeline
Sharp, genuine, and a little bit raunchy.
Madeline creates richly drawn characters, wildly funny moments, and a surprising amount of heart. With patient character work and committed chaos, the ensemble builds detailed, joyful worlds you’ll care about—before gleefully burning them down.
The players of Madeline embrace emotional range, bold commitment, and playful collaboration, creating performances that are as poignant as they are hilarious. Offstage, they’re a team that genuinely loves spending time together and supporting one another—which makes its way onto the stage, too.
Practices & Shows
Madeline practices every other week on Thursdays from 7:15-9:15 PM in Northwest DC and is coached by Jeff Bolen. Madeline shows tend to be on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in 4- to 6-week intervals, followed by a 4- to 6-week break. Regular attendance at rehearsals and shows is required and any major scheduling concerns should be raised before auditioning.
Madeline is looking for new team members who possess and demonstrate the following required backgrounds, skills, attributes:
Required Commitment & Experience
- At least one year of play and performance experience
- Completion of the WIT improv curriculum or equivalent
- A strong commitment to attending the scheduled Thursday team rehearsals a month and shows nearly every weekend during WIT runs
- Prompt communications and responses via GroupMe and e-mail
Performance Style
- Dynamic physicality
- Strong characters that commit to a clear emotional POV
- Leading with fun and wonder
- Making big, bold decisive moves on stage
- Intentional listening and support
