WIT announces auditions for sci-fi epic Starship Odyssey

Washington Improv Theater will hold auditions on Jan. 5, 6, and 9 for a sci-fi genre show co-directed by Denny Johnson and Colin Murchie. Starship Odyssey: The Final Mission is an improvised sci-fi experience for nerds and non-nerds alike. The show will play on familiar sci-fi tropes, but will also focus on creating a 45-minute narrative that explores the crew’s relationships as they work to save humanity from ultimate evil.

Rehearsals will be Wednesday nights from February 6 through mid-June when shows begin. Additionally, two one-day intensives will be scheduled, likely in February and March.

Sign up to audition by Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 11:59 PM. Directors seek smart, energetic players interested in creating ensemble chemistry. A prior knowledge of sci-fi genre is not required, though players should be curious and willing to learn about sci-fi tropes.
