Put Your Name on a DC Landmark: Naming Opportunities Now Open for WIT’s New Home
Be a part of a cultural landmark that will last for years to come. Washington Improv Theater is building a theater and training center in the heart of DC’s NoMa neighborhood, and we’re inviting local businesses and organizations to be part of it permanently through several distinct naming opportunities.
Set to open in 2027, WIT’s new 10,000-square-foot performance space and community hub at 1222 3rd St. NE will anchor the NoMa neighborhood as a hub for joy and community.
There’s a particular kind of joy that happens when a room full of strangers laughs together—a group of strangers united by comedy. That’s the feeling WIT has spent 25 years creating in borrowed spaces around the city. Now we gets to build a home designed for exactly that feeling, and to have it every single night. In a moment when so much of life happens through a screen, this building will be proof that connection still happens best in person — through humor, through trust, through showing up.
To put your name on a piece of this space is to say something about what you stand for: joy, creativity, and community. Naming rights are now available across the building, from our flagship mainstage to the classrooms where our next generation of improvisers will learn to their craft.
Available naming opportunities include:
- The Performance Space ($750,000) — WIT’s 110-seat mainstage theater, the heart of every show, opening night, and community gathering. Your organization’s name will enjoy maximum visibility for decades to come.
- Lower Level Creative Lair ($500,000) — Seven classrooms, the green room, and a social space behind a dedicated, high-visibility entrance, hosting WIT’s classes, workshops, and WIT@Work corporate events.
- The Café & Bar ($250,000) — The social hub of the whole campus, where neighbors, students, and audiences gather before and after every show.
- The Green Room ($50,000) — Where performers gather before taking the stage, carrying your name in perpetuity.
- Individual Classrooms ($25,000 each, six available) — An accessible entry point for lasting recognition in the spaces where improv skills are taught to hundreds of students every year.
This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity: a chance to plant your organization’s name in the foundation of a thriving new arts destination in one of DC’s fastest-growing neighborhoods — seen by thousands of students, performers, corporate clients, and audience members every single year.
WIT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
