WIT welcomes The Cast of the Second City during Summer School

The Cast of the Second City makes four guest appearances at WIT during WIT Presents: Summer School! They’ll perform longform improv sets while they’re in town for the Kennedy Center’s Second City’s Almost Accurate Guide to America: Divided We Stand. The Second City’s variety of comedy theaters, training centers, and full-time touring ensembles have created an internationally known brand in improv-based sketch comedy whose alumni include Tina Fey, Chris Farley, Bill Murray, and Keegan-Michael Key.

The cast:

• RYAN ASHER has trained at the Second City Conservatory, Improv Olympic, and the Annoyance Theater.  She is a member of the iO Harold team Beans, as well as a founding member of the sketch group MRS.  She has written and performed her one woman show BLESSED across the country. Ryan remains the only comedian to win the Playground Theater’s Gimme 5 solo competition twice.
• TYLER DAVIS is from Columbus, Ohio. Outside of his work with TourCo, he performs with Devil’s Daughter (iO), Trigger Happy (The Annoyance), and co-runs the DiOversity improv jam (iO) which seeks to introduce more diverse people to the Chicago comedy community.
• KATIE KERSHAW is originally from the foothills of Appalachia in Eastern Kentucky. She is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory, and the iO Training Center. Katie improvises with Perennials at the iO Theater, Tone at the Mission Theater, and Trigger Happy at Annoyance Theater.
• CHUCHO PEREZ  is Touring with The Second City. When he isn’t on the road, you can most often see him performing solo shows, with his rap group Handsome Naked or with Pimprov. Hailing (Go Blue) from Michigan, you can follow him and his Detroit sports bias @TheChuchoPerez.
• ROSS TAYLOR is originally from Missouri where he attended the University of Missouri for theatre performance. Before moving to Chicago, Ross spent seven years in New York City, performing regularly at Magnet Theater and the PIT and teaching at the Magnet. In Chicago, he performs regularly with Baby Wants Candy, iO, and The Second City.
