Tonight’s Lineup:

The Broken Bones

The Broken Bones presents: “We Turn Injury Into Comedy.” We’ve all been hurt — perhaps by a hidden patch of ice, a sick collision while scoring the winning goal, or a very public breakup at your 28th birthday party. The Broken Bones will interview an audience member about an injury — be it physical, emotional, or other — and we will all heal together through comedy. The cast has some of DC’s funniest improvisers who have been featured by Comedy Central, The Washington Post, NPR, and at comedy festivals around the US and Europe.

Cast: Erick Acuña, Neil Baron, Geoff Corey, Darnell Eaton, Eva Lewis, Kristina Martinez, Kelsey Peters

The Hypothesis

This ensemble is made up of scientists and science enthusiasts with diverse science backgrounds, ranging from neuroscience to ecology, and from climatology to psychology. They give audience members the chance to pose a question to them. For example: How does memory work? Why is the sky blue? What happens in a black hole?

These talented improvisers then attempt to answer it based on their individual and collective understanding of the mysteries of science. They also invite special guests from time-to-time to talk about their areas of expertise. So, come prepared with that burning science question you’ve always wanted to have answered. Then get ready to have your mind blown and your funny bone tickled as the Hypothesis takes you on a scientific comedy journey.

Cast: Ceci De Robertis, Tom Di Liberto, Nina Hsu, Jordana Mishory, Henry Ring, Goli Samimi, Nic Small, Bethany Stokes, Slli’m Williams

iMusical

This long-running ensemble combines the unpredictable playfulness of comedic improvisation with the emotional power of musical theater. Their cast of singer-improvisers creates a compelling new show with each performance, consisting of completely improvised scenes, lyrics and music — all inspired by a single audience suggestion. You have to see and hear it to believe it!

The Washington Post calls iMusical “spot on.” The cast has performed to standing ovations in multiple comedy festivals in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York, as well as at venues across the DC area, including the Kennedy Center. Under the direction of Travis Charles Ploeger since its creation in 2006, iMusical continues to explore the human condition via song and laughter… as only WIT can!

Cast: Cassie Barnum, Matt Berman, Ryan Campbell, Mark Chalfant, Geoff Corey, Beth Lyons, Michael O’Connor, Travis Ploeger, Adrianne Thomas, Elaine Tinkelman, Anna Claire Walker, Simone Webster
