For more than 25 years, Washington Improv Theater’s improv comedians have taken a simple suggestion or story from a (volunteer) audience member and turned it into a never-before-seen comedy show.

Our 4pm show is pay-what-you-choose (i.e. free with the option to make a donation.) This is your chance to see some of the best indie improv troupes in the DMV plus WIT’s longest-running ensemble iMusical, who will create an improvised musical right before your eyes.

WIT’s performers are so talented that most first-time audience members find it impossible to believe that everything is totally made up on-the-spot! (Trust us, it is!) No two shows are ever the same so you can keep coming back for more…

Our alumni have gone on to SNL, The Daily Show, HBO’s Insecure and The White Lotus, and Hulu’s How to Die Alone to name just a few comedy destinations.

Performances will take place in Studio Theatre’s Victor Shargai Theatre. Patrons using wheelchairs or with accessibility issues are given priority for front-row seating, which is on the floor level.
