POTUS Among Us: Beyond Belief - September 27, 2024
Get Tickets Now!What’s the truth about WIT's (fictitious) presidential candidates? Come find out–and maybe spread some of your own rumors along the way.
Washington Improv Theater’s unscripted election satire POTUS Among Us: Beyond Belief celebrates its twentieth anniversary with a 2024 edition that puts audiences in control of the candidates’ identities as well as their political future. This year’s edition explores rumor and misinformation—how do we understand truth in an age of misinformation. And what role do we all play in spreading rumors?
Each performance introduces a different motley cast of candidates running to be commander-in-chief. These outlandish characters will combat (or spread) misinformation, face off in debates, and take on rumors (perhaps started by the audience themselves!). The audience will help narrow the field down to two final candidates and ultimately vote to elect a winner each night.
ABOUT THE GUEST: JIM NEWELL has been covering Congress and campaigns in Washington, DC since 2007. He is the current Senior Politics Writer for Slate Magazine, where he’s been on staff since 2014. Jim previously worked at Gawker and Wonkette.
