Moonstruck 2 + iMusical + Lena Dunham featuring Ask Me Anything with Robert Samuels

Need an antidote to grim headlines? WIT will give you a jolt of optimism while delivering laughs from our talented ensembles.

ABOUT WIT

WIT shows are perfect for a date night, out-of-town visitors, or simply something new and spontaneous to do. All for just $20.

For more than 25 years, our hilarious, experienced improvisers have taken a simple suggestion or story from an audience member and turned it into never-before-seen comedy. And because every performance is made-up on-the-spot, no two shows are ever the same, so you can keep coming back for more! Our homegrown talent has gone on to “SNL,” “The Daily Show,” HBO’s “Insecure” and “The White Lotus,” Hulu’s “How to Die Alone,” and more!

ABOUT ASK ME ANYTHING

From fearless advocates to visionary leaders, join us as we shine our spotlight on a series of noteworthy and inspiring individuals, who are making a difference in the DC area and beyond. Each guest will share stories and insights through a candid Q&A session. From there, a cast of improv comedians will use that material as inspiration for their performance.

Why doom-scroll when you can get out of the house (and out of your head) with a night of hope, community, and comedy?

ABOUT OUR SPECIAL GUEST ROBERT SAMUELS

Samuels is a Pulitzer-Prize winning author and reporter for the Washington Post, who co-wrote “His Name is George Floyd.” He covers politics, policy, and the changing American identity for the Post. He’s also the Post’s figure skating analyst.

ABOUT MOONSTRUCK 2

2023 Fighting Improv Smackdown Tournament champions Moonstruck 2 consists of four city gals who know that sometimes you need to dance in front of the moonlight. Come *CHER* your favorite movie quote, and watch them spin it into a show that’s fast, feisty, and fun.

Cast: Jordana Mishory, Liz Sanders, Macey Schiff, and Simone Webster

ABOUT WIT ENSEMBLE IMUSICAL

iMusical is WIT’s longest-running ensemble. They join the unpredictable playfulness of comedic improvisation with the emotional power of musical theater. Their cast of singer-improvisers creates a compelling new show with each performance, comprised of completely improvised scenes, lyrics, and music — all inspired by a single audience suggestion. You (almost) won’t believe your ears!

Cast: Adrianne Thomas, Anna Claire Walker, Arie Rich, Cassie Barnum, Catherine Deadman, Elaine Tinkleman,  Katie O’Donnell, Mark Chalfant, Matt Berman, Michael O’Connor, Patrick Hsieh, Ryan Campbell, Simone Webster, Stanley Seiden, and Travis Ploeger

ABOUT WIT ENSEMBLE LENA DUNHAM

Lena Dunham started as an idea to bring together Black improvisers in DC who were usually the only Black member of their improv team. Comprised of veteran DC improvisers, Lena Dunham performs thoughtful, quick hitting, and sometimes deep comedic takes on Black culture informed by our unique individual perspectives from information we get about an audience member’s Black friend. Just kidding, we are just trying to make you laugh until you pass out. No two Lena Dunham shows are alike because no two Black friends are alike. We are not a monolith so come to a show, share some details about your friendships with Black people, and watch as we give you a thousand different angles on what it feels like and means to be someone’s Black friend.

Cast: Bam Alston, Darnell Eaton, Erica Mysc, Eva Lewis, Jamal Newman, Krystal Ramseur, Nic Small, Simone Webster, and Sliim Williams
