The Hypothesis Presents: Weird Science!

The Hypothesis combines science and improv to both inform and delight audiences. The team consists of scientists and science enthusiasts with diverse science backgrounds — ranging from neuroscience to ecology, from climatology to psychology, and everything in between.

And Now for Something Completely Different, The Hypothesis will kick off the show with a live science experiment to inspire our improv show. Shibacle are the 2025 Fighting Improv Smackdown Tournament (FIST) champions. Shibacle is what happens when you hand the aux cord to four wildly different improvisers and say “Just have fun.” Fueled by joyful chaos, impulsive brilliance, and the occasional choreographed dance break, this team thrives on big swings, weird worlds, and an unwavering commitment to the bit — even (especially?) when it spirals. They bring the kind of unpredictable energy that feels like a party and a fever dream — held together by trust, fast instincts, and a deep love of play. They’re loud. They’re loose. They’re Shibacle. Inner Monologue Monoscene

Inner Monologue Monoscene starts with a grounded, everyday scene, then cracks it open to reveal what the characters are really thinking. Players freeze the action to step into the spotlight and share their inner monologues, which grow faster, messier, and more chaotic as the scene unfolds. By the end, it’s a hilarious collision between our characters’ calm exteriors and their unfiltered inner worlds.

Kinfolk

They say you are who you come from, and tonight, we’re taking that literally. In this high-concept experiment, the entire Kinfolk cast will be physically tied together for the duration of the show. Why? Because no story exists in a vacuum. We’re inviting you to share your own ‘Kinfolk’ experiences—the traditions, the quirks, and the bonds that define your people—and we’ll bring them to life while navigating the stage as one single, connected unit. It’s a risky, physical, and soulful exploration of the ties that bind us all. When one of us moves, we all move. Come see what happens when the village truly acts as one.

CHAOS
