M.J. Welch
(she/her)
Washington Improv TheaterA lifelong sufferer of a medical condition called "The Wiggles," she has found there is only one cure: improv.
M.J. grew up loving comedy, but it wasn’t until a friend encouraged her to take improv classes with WIT in 2018 that she realized how much. She completed the WIT curriculum in March 2020 (spooky) and has practiced and performed with various indie teams in D.C., participated in WIT’s Musical Improv Conservatory in 2024, and completed improv workshops in NYC. M.J. also loves teaching improv—she has taught Improv for All workshops and TA’d WIT classes.
When she’s not doing improv, M.J. can be found at the zoo fawning over the creatures in the Small Mammal House, hosting friends for game nights or dinner parties, letting off steam at her boxing gym, or in the darkroom developing black-and-white pictures like an old-timey news reporter.
