Washington Improv TheaterLamia first discovered improv while reading "Bossypants" by Tina Fey and learning about the actor's journey through Chicago's Second City.
By a stroke of luck, Lamia was reading the book on the Toronto metro when she spotted an ad for classes and shows at The Second City Toronto. Lamia took the leap, signed up for a class, and has been exploring the world of improv and theater ever since, including through classes at WIT.
With more than 15 years of professional experience, Lamia brings expertise in strategic communications, investor relations, and emerging markets investing that she has gained through roles with major philanthropies, development finance institutions, and the Government of Canada. Her work has spanned Africa, Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa, with a focus on digital finance, technology, and infrastructure.
A proud Canadian, Lamia holds a Master of Public Policy and Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University, also known as the home of Ravens basketball. Outside of work, she is passionate about sports, with a particular soft spot for women’s tennis and basketball.
