Amber Bellsdale

"Amber started improv to be a better D&D player but now she does so much improv she doesn’t have time to play D&D."

In her formative years Amber was immersed in theater and dance. She performed, directed, choreographed, and taught. For Amber, improv is like meditation, bringing everything into the present moment and pushing all worries of the world away. Amber believes in the power of play and collective storytelling. She loves bringing laughter and joy to her improv teammates and audiences.

After finishing the WIT curriculum, Amber has continued her improv studies voraciously. She has trained with Suzi Barrett, Will Hines, Billy Merritt, Julie Brister, and the Annoyance Theater. She is delighted to play with indie teams Sweeter Things and Heist Heist Baby. Amber also performs with WIT’s Queer Variety Calvacade and Billy Merritt’s BIT comedy podcast network. Amber is currently in WIT’s teaching assistant program and is the assistant director of the 2025 WIT summer show, Table Talk: An Improvised Tale of Adventure.

Amber hails from Washington state and identifies as a West Coaster. Amber spent 20 years as a public health professional. Notably, she helped build Obamacare and expand healthcare access to millions. Creative pursuits took a backseat while she was building her career but rediscovering being part of the arts community has been transformative. Amber vows never to leave again! Amber loves celebrating ridiculous holidays like, “rubber ducky day,” forest bathing, theme parties, her majestic kitties, and finding the fun in everyday life.
