Washington Improv TheaterAakash Shah is a Product Manager for Fannie Mae, where he focuses on risk management technology and analytics to help bring liquidity, stability, and affordability to the U.S. housing market. His career has spanned various strategy, marketing, relationship management, and capital markets roles in mortgage finance. Aakash earned his MBA at Georgetown University, and BBA at GWU.
Aakash has been dad-joke-ready since a toddler, but never explored the world of improv comedy until 2018, when his friend and WIT alum, Shravan Amin, pushed him to explore the craft to aid in his professional growth. Aakash found incredible portability with the concept of Yes, And to his work life, enabling him to cultivate a much stronger sense of professional empathy. This has allowed him to build much more collaborative relationships and teams in his career. Aakash has completed all 5 levels of the WIT curriculum, and is excited to expand WIT’s reach and introduce the value of the craft to professionals throughout the DMV!
Born and bred a Jersey boy, Aakash has called the DC area home for the last two decades, with brief stints in Milwaukee and Nashville. He currently lives in Arlington, Va. with his beautiful wife, Chelsey, and two rambunctious Siberian huskies, Polo and Gryffindor. Aakash is an avid volleyball player, rock climber, certified Yoga instructor, and a vociferous Jeopardy fan.
