WIT announces auditions for The Feminine Experience: An Improvised Monologue Show

Washington Improv Theater will be holding auditions for The Feminine Experience: An Improvised Monologue Show on Wednesday, January 8, and Saturday, January 11, 2020.

This year’s production will feature two performances: Sunday, February 23, and Monday, February 24. Practices will be held on Saturdays from 12 – 3 pm, starting February 1.

Sign up to audition by Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 11:59 PM. Directors are looking to cast voices that showcase the diverse experience of being a woman or non-binary. Therefore, the directors strongly encourage women of color, non-binary performers, women with disabilities, women with diverse backgrounds, and LGBTQIA+ to audition.

This show, by design, includes personal and vulnerable material. Players should be comfortable with that notion and should prepare to play emotionally and authentically as themselves during the audition.

Auditioners should:

  1. be women (cisgender, transgender, and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence).
  2. have completed Level 4 in WIT’s curriculum or have equivalent class/performance experience.
  3. be available for the performances February 23 and February 24.
  4. be available for Saturday practices in February.

If you have any questions, or if you are not able to make the audition time and are still interested in auditioning, please email Kelsey Peters and Krystal Ramseur at kelseypeters12@gmail.com and kramseur11@gmail.com.
