Support WIT by contributing to our silent auction

WIT’s silent auction is a major highlight of our annual fundraiser that gets everyone in our community excited and involved!

WHAT’S NEEDED: We need your help in gathering auction items. Donated items tend to be wonderfully eclectic — from traditional things like gift certificates and live event passes, to offbeat items such as a custom portrait of your pet or a personalized styling session, as well as big-ticket items like travel vouchers and beachfront vacation stays.

WHY IT MATTERS: This year’s auction is especially important because it will kick-off WIT’s upcoming campaign to raise funds for a new theater that is also expected to house our classes, rehearsal spaces, and in-person WIT@Work training sessions.

THE EVENT: The silent auction will culminate at an afternoon cocktail reception and unveiling from 2PM to 5PM on Saturday, June 21 at the Festival Center in Adams Morgan. The theme is “WIT’s Big Move” and, in addition to the silent auction, we’ll be unveiling our plans for the new space and offering attendees a first look at the architectural designs. Tickets to the event will go on sale soon!

HOW TO HELP: The easiest way to support the silent auction is by donating something yourself and/or encouraging others to do the same. In the past, we’ve seen businesses, including restaurants and specialty shops, donate physical items and services. We’ve also had generous members of our community offer priceless experiences.

GET INVOLVED: We could use your help in approaching establishments that you patronize (your yoga studio, go-to bar, favorite restaurant, florist, book store, café, fitness club, etc. ) or by donating creative items and services that you yourself create or provide.

SUCH AS:

  • A gift card to a business or restaurant. If you’re a regular somewhere, ask if they might be willing to make a donation.
  • A personal service such as music lessons, cooking classes, a photography shoot, or graphic design services.
  • An improv-related service — like personalized coaching — or an “out of the box” experience such as leading a night of Texas Hold ‘Em poker.

INSPIRATION: Need extra help coming up with ideas? Check out the items that were donated last year.

And, of course, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for supporting “WIT’s Big Move” and our community’s very bright future! Bidding on this year’s auction items will start in early June.
