Talkin’ Tagouts with Neil Baron

Better your tagout skills to make better scenes.

Tagouts are deceptively simple: Tag someone, they leave, you start a scene.

But there’s a lot more to a good tagout than that.

This 2.5 hour workshop is a deep dive into tagouts: what they can do, what they tend to do badly, and what separates tagouts that elevate a set from ones that muck it up.

We’ll identify some common pitfalls to avoid, drill the muscle of tagging with intention, and make sure our tagouts stay connected (but not too connected) to the scenes they come from.

ABOUT NEIL

Neil started improvising at Middlebury College in 2008 as part of the group Middlebrow. He then performed and taught improv at Atlas Improv Co. in Madison, WI before moving to DC in 2017. He won FIST 2019 with The Broken Bones, and performs regularly in the duo Goodison.

He’s happy to talk about mattresses, headphones, cats and pets, bball, and pressure cooking, or whatever you want to talk about or we can just sit and we don’t have to talk. His birthday is in March.
