Confident Conversations: Improv for High-Stakes Communication
A free, interactive online workshop that helps professionals master the art of unscripted conversation.
If you’ve ever had to negotiate a big deal, deliver tough feedback, or handle a high-stakes call with clients or stakeholders, you know the pressure to respond in the moment. This session uses applied improv techniques to turn those stressful moments into opportunities for connection and influence. In just one hour, you’ll learn how to better stay poised, persuasive, and creative in the midst of unpredictable conversations.
What You’ll Gain
Confidence Under Pressure: Practice thinking on your feet so you can respond with clarity, even when conversations take an unexpected turn.
Improved Communication Skills: Learn “Yes, And” and other improv tools to defuse tension, actively listen, and build trust during negotiations, feedback discussions, or any tough talk.
Practical Techniques: You’ll leave with practical tools you can use immediately to foster collaboration and better navigate difficult conversations.
Why Improv
Because communication isn’t scripted. This workshop is led by WIT@Work, the professional training arm of Washington Improv Theater. WIT@Work specializes in taking the same principles that make improv performers successful onstage and applying them to the workplace. Through joyful, hands-on exercises, WIT@Work has helped teams at leading organizations become more agile, empathetic, and effective communicators.
“Without exaggeration, I can honestly say that your training was one of the most valuable I’ve ever been to. I’ve found ways to apply the principles you taught in my work, and I’ve noticed a difference.”
— research scientist at the Human Resources Research Organization
