Come see DC differently through the eyes of a fascinating local resident in this interview and improv exploration of life in DC. First we interview a special guest about their life, their vocation and passions, and what makes DC special to them. Then we improvise a fun and freewheeling montage of scenes inspired by our interview. Produced by Erick Acuña, People of the District has a rotating cast for each show.
Cast: Ceci De Robertis, Kristina Martinez, Nick Martinez, Ray Simeon, Ginnie Seger, Erick Acuña
Daniel Barrera is a transplant to DC transplanted from Florida transplanted from Peru from the motherland of Colombia. As many others, he moved to DC for work to serve in the AmeriCorps at a local Public Charter after college. Thanks to spending lots of time with longtime DC locals, they opened his eyes to the strong DC food culture and ways to look beyond the monuments and Capitol Hill (no shade, just facts). Currently, he’s a single father of 24 kindergarteners at a public charter school in northeast DC. When not lesson planning, he can be found playing board games, baking at home, or tuning out the world with some jazz in his earbuds.
