LIZARD GIRL + Madeline + AMA: Kathy Baird
Ask Me Anything: Changemakers - December 17, 2022
The world may seem chaotic right now, but these activists, artists, and community leaders are helping make the world better.
Ask Me Anything: Changemakers features interviews with DMV residents who are making the world a better place. These interviews serve as inspiration for a performance by WIT’s improvisers.
The run also features performances by our family of company of ensembles . Each night features a different line-up and no two shows are the same (even remotely!).
About Kathy: Kathy Baird — Sicangu Lakota, an enrolled citizen of the Rosebud Sioux Nation, and a descendent of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin — is the Chief Communications Officer of The Washington Post, and is perhaps the only Native American at the C-Suite level in corporate America. She has worked across Native American and Indigenous communities and issues for decades, most recently at Nike in Beaverton, Oregon, where she was the Co-Chair of Nike’s Native American Network. Kathy also serves on the boards of IllumiNative (a non-profit focused on Native American representation and narrative change), the American Indian College Fund, and Rare, a global environmental nonprofit. Through these commitments, Kathy is dedicated to ensuring Indigenous visibility and inclusion, and that First Peoples are authentically and accurately portrayed.
Masks are required for all patrons in performance spaces. WIT encourages the use of medical-grade masks (like surgical masks). To learn more about Studio Theatre’s COVID safety policy, visit their health and safety page.
