To Whom It May Concern,
We will be unable to attend work today because we’re sick. Yes, that’s right, all nine of us just happened to be struck with the same illness on the exact same day that makes it completely impossible for us to come into work. We are not slackers and are not faking, and frankly your implication to the contrary is deeply offensive.
That big project will have to be put on hold until… well, until we feel completely healed. After all, it would be criminal to come into the office sick and risk infecting anyone else.
Therefore we won’t be in and the project is on hold. But don’t worry, we’ll attack it with renewed energy upon our return!
Please send an email, text, smoke signal, or carrier pigeon to let us know if you need any further information. If that doesn’t work, you can often find us at Source Theater on Tuesday nights. You should come by if you want to laugh and play with us, or if you really do need that additional information.
