WIT@Work: Improv for Business

Learn the basic principles of improv and how to apply them to your work!

Imagine you’re backstage at the theater, with a packed audience looking forward to a great show.  But there’s one catch: you don’t know your lines, and neither does anyone else.  Now go out there and put on a show, a show that’s never been seen before, and that never will be seen again!  p.s. Make it funny.

That’s the scenario that improvisers face every night they perform, and they succeed (and have fun doing it) through confidence, creativity, and supportive collaboration—the same skills can help you succeed in the workplace. WIT@Work uses improv-based training to help individuals and organizations improve teamwork, communicate better, and spark creativity and innovation.

This one-day WIT@Work Improv for Business Course will introduce and rehearse improv principles and skills to help you become a more engaging and resilient communicator, including in high-stakes, off-the-cuff moments, and to ignite your own creativity and facilitate innovation by teams. No prior improv experienced is needed, and participants will receive a certificate upon the completion of the class.

The class includes breakfast and you’ll have a break for lunch on your own in the fun 14th Street/U Street corridor.
